Oh Anna Scholz!

Black Label - Sexy Cutout Dress

I am in love with the following items that Anna Scholz is releasing as part of the Spring Summer 2011 Collection. I love the Anna Scholz clothes I own (one Anna Scholz for Simply Be dress (Spring/Summer 2010), one Black Label dress (Spring/Summer 2010) and two from the last White Label collection.

Black Label - Large Spot Frill Tunic

Anna Scholz clothing is exquisitely shaped, of the highest quality (this is true whether I am wearing the Simply Be dress or a White Label dress - both are of the highest quality relative to the cost of the garment) and all Anna Scholz clothing is made with women and curves in mind. Many of you will recall I have previously previewed the Anna collections for Autumn/Winter 2010-2011... all the clothes I tried were gorgeous and empowering.

Black Label - Cross stitch print Maxi Dress

I often get asked/emailed about the sizing of the clothing... well - I wear a 20 in Anna's designs and whether I tried a top, cardigan, kaftan, dress or jacket - all fit. Sizing is consistent and the cut and drape of the clothing is designed to make you feel and look good.

White Label - Crepe Frill Dress

I can not wait to see more from Anna's next collection. But for now - here are my favourites!

Paris + Couture = GORGEOUS!

I have posted to you all before how much I LOVE Paris... And I do. All my life, in fact, there has been something about France that has just fascinated me. I learnt french for six years at school and these days while my language skills are rusted, I enjoy reading french language blogs JUST as much as I enjoy English ones.

Photobucket

I was recently in Paris on a Romantic New Years jaunt with Mr. Darcy and on New Years Eve we went into Galeries LaFayette to look at the Christmas Display and take a peak at what fashion in France is up to.

Hello Dior!

Photobucket
A little Marc Jacobs!

The store is pretty amazing. On ground level there is a world of Perfume, Makeup and Accessories and then as soon as you hit Level One you hit fashion. Gorgeous couture labels mixed in with mass marketed style.

Wanna buy some sexy Lingerie?

Love this display from Prada!

Photobucket

Sections of the store are broken into concept areas and as you walk from one little area to another, it really does feel a little like you are moving from shop to shop... some areas are guarded by security and chained off, while others feel absolutely accessible. Prices are mostly very high...

Photobucket
Could you tell this was Dior?

Photobucket
D&G - This was a simple, elegant display in the middle of the floor. LOVE.

D&G accessories!

Now, in fashion, I am not one to look too longingly at the clothing produced by houses like Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent (I think everyone knows my heart belongs to the likes of Anna Scholz when it comes to high end designers) but I do enjoy looking at fashion and seeing trends and styles for inspiration. What I enjoyed about my visit to Galeries Lafayette was wandering about and seeing the lush handbags and gorgeous designs which will be interpreted into our high-street styles. Magic.

Versace elegance!

Golden Globes 2011 - My Favourites!

Photobucket
Michael Douglas photo-bombs Angelina (in Versace) and wife, Catherine (in Monique L'Hullier) - neither of these dresses were particularly amazing - but this is the funniest Celebrity photo I've seen in a long while!

This is just a flash post to highlight my favourites from the 2011 Golden Globe awards.

Photobucket

Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive. This really surprised me as a choice, but I do love the contrast between the high front, long sleeves, length and ULTRA low back. This is elegant and was a different choice amongst a significant pool of bland this year.

Photobucket

A lot of critics have slammed the rose in the centre of Natalie Portman's Viktor & Rolf dress, but I think she looks lovely and actually really like the overtness of the rose and how it matches her clutch and shoes. This kind of gown and drape is always popular with pregnant awards night attendees and I think Natalie looks luminous.

Photobucket

Wow. I like the colours, drape, split, bow and complete originality in this Marc Jacobs dress, as worn by Heidi Klum.

Photobucket

I have included Helena Bonham-Carter in this Vivienne Westwood dress in mis-matched shoes, last, deliberately. And I am sure some of you will completely disagree with this as a choice for fashion FAVOURITE. The thing I LOVE about this dress, the shoes, the hairstyle and all of Carter's fashion tastes - they are decidedly HER tastes. THIS is actually what so many of us celebrate on our blogs - our individualness, quirkiness and right/desire to be beautiful in our own way. I LOVE that Helena is consistently true to herself... maybe, as some commentators have suggested - her "thing" is being weird... MAYBE. But probably - she just rings true to herself and it's the confidence and comfort she brings with all that, that makes this dress and so many of her others work.

What about you? What were your fashion favourites from the Golden Globes?
Which men caught your eye? What suits were they wearing?

Gosh, I just love this time of year!

xxx.

Simply UnBElievable... Gok Wan Stock Selling OUT!!

Photobucket

I love the Simply Yours Gok Wan range... but would you believe, this much loved range is about to sell-out as Gok and Simply Yours prepare to launch his new range, which my sources tell me is different, but still absolutely gorgeous. As you've all read - I LOVE the vintage style and comfort of the Gok range - so if you haven't already looked - get there, and get in quick... these are underwear purchases you wouldn't regret.

Photobucket

Simply Yours sent me these pictures of Aussie Model Teer Wayde in just a few of my favourite Gok Wan items... seriously, Teer looks divine... Frankly, so do I when I wear these items and so will you (let's recall - they are both supportive and sexy). I really suggest you get over to Simply Yours and look at this range before you're too late - my size has sold out! GRRRR - you better check yours, quick!

Christmas Markets...

Photobucket

My lovely darlings! It has been such a while. But - I'm back. I am prepping a lovely post for you on the fashion I saw in PARIS recently and have recently updated the City Chic blog... This post comes a little dated, but I still wanted to share. Two years ago, Darcy and I were in London strolling through the UK version of a Christmas Market... he promised to take me to the real thing, and this Christmas just gone - he truly did. Two days. Saltzburg and Munich... fabulous!

Photobucket

The Christmas Markets each year in Germany and Austria are absolutely famous. They are amazing and festive markets which occur through December in celebration of Christmas and feature great food, decoration, clothing and characters. These markets aren't so much about fashion, but shopping for Christmas.

Photobucket

Something that WAS absolutely fascinating to me was that because of how cold the weather is, things like meat and cheese aren't refrigerated. SERIOUSLY. They sit out in market stalls and just stay cold, because at a -1 degree, refrigeration wouldn't make much difference.

Photobucket

It is all about Christmas and while I don't have outfits to share in this post, I thought that a few of you might like to see the celebration of christmas - at some of the most outstanding Christmas markets in the world.

Photobucket

The thing to note about these places (I went to Saltzburg and Munich) that's fashion related is that you REALLY do need to rug up. It is cold, and not just weather cold, but wind-chilled (hence I bought the head-band for my freezing noggin!). While the market stalls don't sell much fashion (with the exception of accessories, including the delightful ear bags below), there is fashion that can be bought - Saltzburg and Munich are cities, afterall!

Photobucket

Whether clichéd or fashionable, both Munich and Saltzburg can cater to taste...

Photobucket

Photobucket

One thing that did really surprise me, that I had never seen before, was the very obvious presence of real fur coats. Whatever your stance is on Fur, be aware that in these two centres, many men and women have no qualms wearing long Fur coats. I didn't take (or want to take) any pictures of people in fur - but I did think this guy looked pretty cute (and afterall, he's supposed to wear fur)...

Photobucket

See you soon. xxx.
