I needed a pick me up. Of the booby variety.I joined a new gym with Mr. Darcy lately (couples membership and we also moved in together!). On joining, I felt a need for a gym-gear overhaul. Seriously. I think the last time I bought new gym clothes was NEVER. To be honest, the clothes I have previously worn to the gym have been a garbled mish-mash of bits and pieces I've thrown together. I have always worn a sports bra, but hadn't bought a new one in years. My track pants are the old slouchy variety and the tops I wore were old T-shirts.
My new Elomi Underwired Energise bra from SimplyYours is awesome. This is a bra which is supportive and comfortable. The straps are soft and gentle on your shoulders while the four-hook closure of my 42F offers extra back support. Now, when I first put the bra on, I did feel a little conscious that the bra-shape curves my breasts into 1950s peaks... however, this was no big deal especially when I realised that the support offered meant the cup was literally holding onto my breast.
One thing I really love about this item is that it's not a simple bra - there is an extra panel of material above where conventional cups and the underwire end. This affords chest support and holds your cleavage (and thereby your boobs) in place.
And how is the bounce meter?
Well, I have worn this bra to the gym as well as to the Alps where I sledded down a mountain at about 40km and hour... let me tell you, whether I am bumping down a mountain or running away on a treadmill, the support is unbelievable. I recommend this bra but also suggest you make sure you have the shoulder straps done up securely... this bra needs to support you, so ensure the straps are (comfortably) tight.
And... to finish out my gym-gear set, I bought myself some clothes from the Adidas Plus range available at SimplyBe. I bought an Adidas shirt and a pair of Adidas capri sports pants. Now with each of these, I sized up... this style of gym gear is meant to be worn close to the body, but I wanted to ensure a form-fit as opposed to clinging fit. I made a good choice. This clothing is comfortable and lets my skin breath while I sweat away. I got a black and pink stripe combination set and as there are a couple of options, there should be something to suit everyone.
Working out can be gruelling - at the very least, ensure a proper bra and my hot tip for gym goers or potential excercising babes - for me, feeling good while sweating up a storm, starts with feeling good with how I feel about myself, the right support and feeling confident are a big part of that.
What I paid:
Elomi Energise Sports Bra: £30
Adidas Capri Pant: £32
Adidas T-Shirt: £20

Congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, I had no idea adidas did a plus range. Off to explore...
Hi,
ReplyDeleteI only wear Elomi bras now as the fit and support is the best I have found for my FF cups! I bought that sports bra recently, and it is the best I have tried. I think the support and shape are far better than Shock Absorber and the like and you definately have more a bust shape than a squashed shelf that I have found with other sports bras. As I am the only female at a martial arts club, I want to look my best and control the bouncing!
Sounds like a great sports bra. A "couples" membership - Aww, how sweet. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm another one who didn't realize Adidas has plus sizes. Thanks for the tips!
You look the picture of health, Em!
Thanks lovelies - I have to say, I am so pleased with the Adidas clothes. I was surprised at how well they fit and how good I feel in them. They also absorb sweat easily and let your skin breathe.
ReplyDeleteLove!
xxx.
